Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our telemedicine service, treatments, and process.
Getting Started
Complete our secure online intake form with your medical history and health goals. A licensed clinician will review your information within a few days, and up to about a week during busier periods. If treatment is deemed medically appropriate, they'll create a personalized protocol and send your prescription to our licensed pharmacy partner for fulfillment.
Most patients complete the online intake in 5-10 minutes. Take your time to provide accurate information—this ensures the best possible care from your clinician.
There's no separate chart-review fee — the clinician's review is included. You're charged for your selected treatment at checkout, and if a clinician doesn't approve you, you receive a full refund.
Medical & Safety
A licensed clinician reviews your medical information as part of the chart review.
Yes. All treatments offered through ElliotMeds are prescription medications and require approval from a licensed clinician. Clinicians will only prescribe if treatment is medically appropriate based on your individual health profile.
No — prescriptions are not guaranteed. A licensed clinician reviews your information, determines your eligibility, and decides whether treatment is appropriate.
Not everyone is a candidate for treatment. If your clinician determines treatment isn't appropriate, the explanation appears on your order page, and the amount you paid at checkout is refunded in full.
Like all medications, these medications can have side effects. Your clinician will discuss potential risks and side effects specific to your prescribed treatment. Most patients tolerate treatment well when used under medical supervision.
It depends on the specific condition. During your intake, you'll list any medical conditions, and your clinician will determine if treatment is safe for you. Certain conditions may be contraindications for treatment.
Treatment & Programs
We offer programs focused on weight management and on longevity and energy. Each program uses clinician-prescribed treatment tailored to your specific goals and health profile. Visit our Treatments page to learn more about each option.
During your intake, you'll indicate your goals and interests. Your clinician will review this information and recommend the most appropriate program based on your health profile. You can also select 'not sure' and let your clinician guide you.
Treatment duration varies based on individual goals and response. Your clinician will recommend an initial protocol length based on your clinical review. Many patients choose to continue long-term with ongoing medical supervision.
Yes. Your clinician can change or stop your treatment at any point. To raise a question, email [email protected] without medical details. Any program changes require medical review and approval.
The option you select during intake reflects your preference, not a final prescription. A licensed clinician reviews your medical information and determines the appropriate medication, dose, and treatment plan. If your clinician recommends a different option than the one you selected, your order will be adjusted before fulfillment and you will be notified of any price difference.
If your clinician recommends a lower-cost medication, dose, or treatment plan than the option selected during intake, ElliotMeds may issue a partial refund or adjust the final checkout amount. If your clinician recommends a higher-cost treatment plan, you must approve the updated price before any additional charge or fulfillment occurs.
Shipping & Delivery
Once your prescription is approved and confirmed, your treatment is typically shipped within 2-5 business days from our licensed pharmacy partner. Shipping time varies by location but is usually 3-5 days.
Yes. All packages arrive in unmarked, discreet packaging with no indication of contents. Sender information shows only the pharmacy name.
We ship to most U.S. states. Availability depends on provider licensing and state regulations. You'll confirm your state during intake, and we'll let you know right away if we aren't able to offer evaluations where you are.
Temperature-sensitive medications are shipped with appropriate cooling packs and insulation to maintain proper storage conditions during transit.
Pricing & Payment
You'll see your pricing before you check out. You're charged at checkout, and if a clinician doesn't approve your treatment, you receive a full refund. Most treatments are offered as a 1-month supply or a 3-month supply, each a single one-time payment, with the full 3-month supply shipped together.
At this time, we do not accept insurance. However, you may be able to use HSA/FSA funds for payment. We provide documentation that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Yes. Since these are prescription medications provided under medical supervision, they typically qualify for HSA/FSA payment. Check with your HSA/FSA administrator to confirm.
No. The price you're quoted includes clinician chart review, prescription medication, administration supplies, and shipping. Each purchase is a single one-time payment — there are no recurring charges.
Ongoing Care
Email [email protected] with any questions — please don't include medical details. If it's a question for your clinician, we'll ask them to follow up by email. For urgent medical concerns, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Not on a set schedule. A licensed clinician reviews your intake before approving your treatment, and reviews each new order the same way. You won't have regular or scheduled visits — your care is handled online, and we don't conduct video or in-person visits. If a clinician needs more information at any point, they can request it through your account before completing their review. If in-person care ever becomes medically necessary, your clinician will recommend that you seek it.
Yes. You can stop treatment at any time, and we recommend consulting your clinician first so you can discontinue safely. Please note that once a clinician approves your treatment it can't be refunded, and prescription medication can't be returned once it's been dispensed — this is a health, safety, and pharmacy-compliance requirement. If a clinician has not yet approved your treatment, contact [email protected] or call (833) 701-2741 about cancellation and refund eligibility.
Safety & Compliance
All prescriptions are filled by RxRoute, a licensed compounding pharmacy located in Tomball, Texas.
Yes. Prescriptions are issued only by licensed clinicians following a proper medical chart review, and are filled by our licensed compounding pharmacy partner.
ElliotMeds is designed with privacy and security safeguards for account and intake workflows. Please do not submit sensitive medical details through general contact forms or unsecured email. Medical information should be submitted through the appropriate intake/account process. No website or electronic transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacies when clinically appropriate, but compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not evaluate compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before marketing. A licensed clinician determines whether a treatment is appropriate based on the information you provide.
No. Paying at checkout doesn't guarantee a prescription. Your payment is for your selected treatment program, and a licensed clinician must independently determine that treatment is medically appropriate before any prescription is issued. If a clinician doesn't approve you, or if you cancel before a clinician approves, you receive a full refund.
